Cetoniscema specious jousselini 3rd Instar x 5
Larvae are feeding on decaying oak and beech leaf litter
Development time 12 - 15 Months
Larvae should be given a cooler diapause period during their 3rd Larval instar or during pupation (drop them down slowly to around 10 degrees C) for 3 months and then slowly increase the temperature back to 20-24 degrees C.
Adults can live up to 6 months
Adults feed on ripe fruit and jelly pots
These larvae are feeding well on decayed oak/beech mulch - note that it is more important for protaetia/cetoniscema species to also have rotten wood in the substrate - or alternatively use flake soil. Keep mulch damp but not soaking wet. Temperature range is 22-26 degrees C. 3rd Instars require a cooler period in the winter months of approx 15 degrees. Larvae will usually develop in 9-12 months.
Adults will feed on ripe fruit.
