Heterometrus spinifer - WC - Extra Large Adult Pairs
Temperature - 22 - 26 degrees C (During cold months you could use a heat mat on one the side of the enclosure, but be sure to control with a thermostat)
Humidity - This species prefers a more humid environment - rather than looking to achieve a specific humidity we keep one side of the enclosure wetter than the other, as well as providing a hide at each end of the enclosure so the scorpion can move to where it is most comfortable and still have the option to hide away.
Substrate - Should be a mixture of soil, moss and a little sand for added texture. Then sprinkle additional sphagnum moss on the surface of the soil in the end of the enclosure you intend to keep wetter.
Provide a wide shallow water dish as they can drown in a bowl that is too deep!
Communal housing - This species can be housed comunally but they should be given lots of space and lots of hiding spaces as well as being well fed to avoid them picking on one another. Overall though it is best to keep them seperately unless you are mixing them for breeding purposes.
